The original fabric is a small piece used to join the lining (See Durán Textiles design SAGA) of the silk jacket once belonging to Kajsa Lisa Petrenia. She was born in 1776 in a family of priests and school masters in Tjuda, in the Swedish speaking parts of western Finland. The cotton fabric is block printed in brick red and black white ground. The lining can be dated to the 1780-ies, but the place of manufacture is unknown. The jacket has a somewhat old fashioned cut and is made from a silk with wide stripes of lace pattern and bunches of flowers in a design dating to the same period as the fabrics in the lining.
