Vestfoldmuseene, Vestfold museums , Norway inv. nr: VF.09990. The origin is a cape lining from Björndalen in Andebu, Norway. The cape is padded and with silk damask outer fabric. The design is block printed in brownish black, light brown and red on medium fine white cotton. The style is dated by the museum as to the 18th century. Cotton prints imitated woven silks and were popular as furnishing fabrics, but were also used for clothing. Often as lining in silk items.
